All gear must be purchased from the MAS Martial Arts Supplies Shop online.

In our effort to keep classes here at MAS affordable, we ask that sparring gear be purchased through MAS. For safety & durability reasons, certain brands are not permitted. Please refer to the list below or check with our staff before purchasing any gear. Heavy weight uniforms are available for advance and black belt students. Some items may be available for special order; again, please speak with our front office staff.  

We have some hand pads, foot pads and chest guards that have been donated for children to use. However, all of the protective gear below should be acquired as soon as possible to ensure proper fit for the student. Improperly fitted gear could lead to improper development of technique.  

Requirements for participating in sparring class

• Students must observe at least one (1) sparring class.
• Students must then consult with his/her instructor (our instructors will have the final word on each individual students' readiness for any area of training here at MAS).
• All gear must be purchased from MAS. Protective sparring gear is mandatory. No student is permitted to spar without ALL required gear.

During sparring class, students are introduced to the proper sparring techniques, as well as, the proper target areas to the body. The student has an opportunity to practice his/her techniques that will enable him/her to participate in open tournaments.
